McDowell announces Renewal of Leave to Remain under the Irish Born Child 2005 Scheme

The Tanaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr Michael McDowell T.D., has announced Government approval for the arrangements to process applications for renewal of leave to remain from the non-national parents of Irish born children granted leave to remain under the Irish Born Child Scheme in 2005 (IBC/05).
Under the IBC/05 Scheme, almost 18,000 applications were received from parents of children born in the State prior to 1 January 2005 when the provisions of the Citizenship Referendum came into effect. Just under 17,000 applications for leave to remain were granted for an initial period of 2 years and those permissions now fall to be renewed for periods of up to three years at which stage those qualifying will be eligible to apply for full citizenship.
Making the announcement the Tanaiste said, "A rigorous approach will be taken to the implementation of the renewal process, with a completed application form and supporting documentation to be provided by each applicant. Leave to remain may be renewed where the applicant can show that they have:

• made every effort to become economically viable in the State by engaging in employment, business or a profession,
• taken all steps necessary, such as appropriate participation in training or language courses, to enable them to engage in employment, business or a profession,
• not been involved in criminal activity."

Details of the application procedure, including when applications are to be submitted, will be published shortly in national newspapers and on the Department's website, and application forms will be made available at that time. In the meantime, people intending to apply for renewal of leave to remain should prepare themselves by gathering together appropriate original documentation such as a passport or national identity card, proof of employment, training certificates or other relevant details.
On 1 January, 2007 Bulgaria and Romania formally became part of the European Union. Citizens of both countries and their family members have free movement rights which, in Ireland, are set out in the European Communities (Free Movement of Persons) (No. 2) Regulations 2006. Citizens of these two countries who were granted permission to remain in Ireland under the IBC/05 Scheme do not have to reapply to have their permission to remain renewed and do not have to register again after 1 January, 2007 when their existing permission to remain expires.

Мы ездили вчера спрашивать,сказали еще нет никаких решений по этому поводу.

Товарищи кто-то узнавал в Дублине по этой теме?Как там, форм еще нет?

у нас тоже резиденство скоро заканчивается.сегодня пытались дозвониться,но безуспешно .вот вопрос к тем кто знает.Они формы будут высылать конкретно каждому у которого заканчивается резиденство или её нужно будет самому достовать?

Да, так будут стучаться в двери, и спрашивать, а Вы случайно не желаете....? Ребяты, Вы че совсем уже расслабились? Сегодня у них 18000 разрешений выданных по рождению детей, я думаю они будут рады, если этот список сократится как минимум вдвое. Так что если желаете попась в список сокращенных, ждите когда пришлют. Интернет у Вас вроде есть, так просто раз в день заходите на www.justice.ie и читаете новости, как только появится, Вы будете в числе первых.
