Job Title - Data Management Technical Team Lead

Duties and Responsibilities

Key tasks include:

• Manage the development team delivering MDM and Business Intelligence solutions at a global level.
• Control development activities on a day-to-day basis
• Plan, estimate and resource significant components of overall project delivery plans, work closely with the project manager
• Manage, schedule, monitor, and report on the various work packages assigned to the team
• Design and Development of technical components
• Monitor technical accuracy and quality of software produced
• Ensure effective methodologies are used in the software development team
• Ensure all databases follow best practice for performance, availability and reliability
• Ensure quality data models are designed and implemented
• Develop, manage and maintain effective relationships with other teams and individuals

Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications:

• Third-level I.T qualification or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• Experience in development of applications using Oracle and SQL Server Framework.
• Full project lifecycle experience, from Requirements through to Deployment.
• At least 5 years practical experience of enterprise level database centric system design and development
• At least 3 to 5 years experience of managing a technical team of up to 10 resources, including career development and performance management.
• Demonstrated practical experience of Master Data Management and Data Warehouse projects and solutions.

Technical Skills:

• Data Modelling & Database Design (Relational & Dimensional)
• Database Administration / Management
• SQL Server 2005 / 2008 Database Experience
• Oracle Database 10G Experience
• Business Intelligence platforms experience (Cognos, Business Objects, Microstrategy etc.)
• ETL experience (Informatica, Datastage Ab-initio Etc).

Other Skills:

• Understanding of insurance processes is desirable.
• Knowledge of best-practice IT support and configuration management processes desirable.
• Project Management certification desirable.
