Business Intelligence Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities

Key tasks include:

• Definition, Implementation & support of Business Intelligence and Analytical solutions
• Develop, monitor and implement processes and standards for information solutions design and development
• Continuous improvement of information solutions and business user support processes
• Research & evaluation of BI & Analytical tools and their potential applications

Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications:

• Third-level I.T qualification or equivalent experience

Experience:

• Ideally 3-5 years hands on experience of defining information solution architectures and designs
• Full project lifecycle experience, from Initial Concept through to Deployment
• Ideally experience in a number of different sectors, with insurance experience highly desirable

Technical Skills:

• Experience of major Business Intelligence Platforms
• Experience in the use of Business Intelligence tools such as SQL Analysis Services, Integration Service
• Knowledge of Cognos would be particularly advantageous
• Visual Design expertise including Scorecarding, Dashboarding and Reporting
• Data Modelling and Dimensional Design knowledge.
• Experience of content delivery using Enterprise Portal solutions such as Microsoft Sharepoint
• Technical Architecture design and implementation on Microsoft platform

Other Skills:

• Understanding of insurance processes is desirable
• Experience of Information Visualisation best practice and design
• Exposure to Data Mining and Analytical platforms (SAS, SPSS etc.).
• User Requirements Elicitation and Assessment
• Overall knowledge of Business Intelligence best practices and emerging trends.
• Source Data Analysis experience
