Position Title: IS Application Analyst
Location: Dublin
Department: IS

Job Description

The Application Analyst will responsible to provide for web development initiatives on company's internal and external web applications as well as ACCPAC/CRM support and development. The analyst will be required to work from established requirements to structure and design application solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

· Function as the primary contact for user application inquiries regarding application problems or services

· Work directly with the end-users and IS Business Analysts to develop requirements and specifications for new application services

· Work directly with the business analyst to scope and develop specifications
· Develop application procedures and training aides for use by the other IS support resources.
· Build and develop reporting services to the user community
· Perform routine application setup and configuration services on behalf of the end users.
· Be available for on-call support

Experience, skills and qualification needed:
2-4 years application experience necessary

· Experience in transforming business requirements to an application functional specification
· Proven ability to identify and plan programming units of work.
· Experience supporting enterprise applications
· Experience in the development and support of Web services including:

o Programming: Java (J2SE, J2EE/JSP), Perl, Javascript, SQL, XML, XSLT, HTML, VB6 and Microsoft ASP

o Java Tools & Frameworks: Struts, Sitemesh, iBATIS SQLMaps, Junit, Ant

o Knowledge of design patterns, MVC etc., and agile development methodologies.

o Eclipse development environment (with My Eclipse Enterprise Workbench).

o Databases: Oracle (SQL*Plus, SQL Loader), SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL

o Configuration Management: Rational ClearCase, Subversion

o Web Servers: SunONE Webserver, Apache, IIS

o Application Servers: JBoss 3.2.3

Desired Professional Certifications:

· Sun Certified Java Programmer

· Sun Certified Web Component Developer

· ISEB Foundation Certifications Software Testing
