Warnings over brands of Lidl wine
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland is advising consumers to check their wine stocks for bottles of Australian Creston Bay brand, Cabernet Shiraz, bought from Lidl stores. It says the wine is being recalled as a precautionary measure after tests in Germany indicated almost 17 times higher than permitted levels of sulphur dioxide in some affected batches. The Agency said this level of sulphur dioxide could trigger asthma attacks and that consumers should return bottles to Lidl stores where purchased.
