Senior Unix/IT Administrator

Location: Cork, Ireland

Your responsibilities include
• Reporting to the Director of IT, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for all the IT infrastructure.
• Working on systems problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
• Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Project manage the implementation of new systems/ amendments to current systems on site.
• Responding to general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Key Skills and qualifications
• Solid working knowledge of Sun Solaris and Linux.
• Working knowledge of Windows (2000/2003/NT/XP) operating systems.
• Working knowledge of shell scripting (bash, ksh, csh) and batch languages
• Working knowledge of Samba, NFS, NIS, DNS (Windows and Unix), Sendmail, Postfix and Squid.
• Install Servers (Sun) and all standard Unix server software.
• Install client PCs with XP pro or 2000 Pro
• Requires a degree or 6+ years of equivalent related experience
• Ability to lead and work as part of a team
