Job Title - Research Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities

Purpose of role:
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for suitably qualified candidates to gain experience in a global market research position.

Key tasks include:

• Assist in researching new global financial market reports for global network of insurance brokers and clients
• Update and improve upon existing reports, using Bloomberg, Excel and other available data sources
• Edit and contribute to global research products
• Acquire a working knowledge of the main industry sectors and in particular the insurance industry
• Utilise the proprietary database to assist in all of the above, in addition to ad hoc internal reporting requests

Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in finance/economics/numerate discipline

Experience:

• Ideally will have over one year in insurance/banking or a similar analysis/reporting role

Technical Skills:

• Essential: MS Excel, Word
• Desirable: Experienced in Bloomberg, SNL, SPSS, PASW Modeler 13, SQL, VBA, MS Access

Other Skills:

• Numerate, with a good understanding of basic statistics
• Excellent understanding of the English language– other language(s) an advantage
• Excellent business writing skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work within a team and to switch between different tasks
• Enthusiasm
• Attention to detail and accuracy
