Кстати профсоюзы регулярно выдвигают идею, что ирландцы должны платить налоги независимо от страны проживания

Irish manufacturing output increased at sharpest pace in March since June 2006
![]() Irish manufacturing output increased at sharpest pace in March since June 2006. The PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) data signalled that operating conditions in the sector improved for the first time since June 2006 -- in twenty-eight months. Output rose sharply, as did new business, driven by series-record new export order growth. The seasonally adjusted NCB PMI - - an indicator designed to provide a single figure measure of the health of the manufacturing industry - - rose strongly to 53.0 in March, from 48.6 in February. The reading marked the greatest improvement in business conditions since September 2007. Irish manufacturing output increased considerably in March, ending a three-month sequence of contraction. Moreover, the rate of expansion was the fastest in forty-five months. The rise was driven by higher new business. New orders grew for the first time in three months, and at the steepest pace since September 2007. Panellists indicated that demand had strengthened in domestic as well as foreign markets. New export orders increased more quickly than total new business. Furthermore, new orders from overseas rose at the fastest pace in the series history. Commenting on the NCB Republic of Ireland Manufacturing PMI survey data, Brian Devine, economist at NCB Stockbrokers said: “The Irish manufacturing PMI finally broke the 50 mark, reaching its highest reading since September 2007. The most encouraging thing about this month’s survey was that panellists indicated that demand had strengthened in domestic as well as foreign markets. New export orders raced ahead at the strongest rate since the survey began in 1998. More generally though, new orders increased at their most rapid rate in 30 months providing evidence that the Irish domestic market may also have bottomed.” http://www.finfacts.ie/irishfinancen..._1019377.shtml |

Saturday, April 03, 2010 THE Exchequer returns for the first quarter of 2010 show the Government’s projected tax target was out by ?266 million or 3.5% for the period. Tax revenues for the three months at ?7.25 billion were 15% down year on year. Over the three months the returns show that in most categories the expected tax income was down on forecasts. VAT, a big earner during the boom, was down 1.3% year on year at ?3.2bn, a shortfall of ?54m. And income tax returns were down by 4% at ?4.2bn, leaving a gap of over 10% year on year. Corporation tax was the biggest under performer, contributing just ?121m to the tax take, representing 46% shortfall of ?102m over the period. By comparison with the same period in 2009, the discrepancy was almost 74%. Stamp duty, a major earner during the housing boom, was also down on target by ?37m, a decline of over 20%, while capital gains tax at ?106m undershot by over 55%. The under-performance on the tax side was offset by an undershoot in Government spending, on both the capital and current side. Government spending in these areas was down by ?1bn year on year. Spending in capital and current terms amounted to ?10.7bn over the period and the shortfall of ?225m meant the Government deficit, at ?3.9bn, was in line with the budget. Last night Michael McGrath, assistant secretary at the department, said "we need to see a good few months before we can draw any conclusions" on how the budget figures will turn out. Though the tax revenues are down 15% year on year, Mr McGrath said there was nothing in the figures to give any cause for alarm at this stage. The department still expects to see the tax target of ?31bn to be achieved. That will leave the Exchequer borrowing requirement at around ?19bn, which is in keeping with the Government’s plans. Those figures take no account of the ?50bn-plus that the state will have to find to pay for the loans transferring to NAMA. Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said last night the tax and expenditure figures "are broadly in line with my budget plan". In a statement, he said: "My department continues to analyse the emerging trends, and at this stage of the year I have no reason to change my outlook." It is clear that the budget decisions are having the intended impact on the public finances and "will restore confidence in Ireland", he added. http://www.examiner.ie/business/kfkfgbcwqlgb/ |
