Job Purpose

As a Master Software Developer you will be a technically able and highly productive practitioner capable of leading a range of activities from early analysis & design, through programming, integration and testing, to deployment activities and 3rd line support.

Responsibilities:

As a Software Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
• Programming SW modules / classes; structuring writing, compiling, debugging and executing source code, algorithms and data structures, ensuring the code is understandable and maintainable; performing re-factoring where relevant
• Analysing requirement specifications, searching for information on solutions, specifying the detailed design for effective implementation (including e.g. secure coding)
• Formally documenting own designs, handling code versions, SW revision management systems, merging of different source code tracks
• Specifying, developing, setting up and maintaining a design environment (manual as well as automated)

Skills Required:

10+ years OO software development/architecture experience in Java.
SCJP (Sun Certified Java Programmer)
SCEA (Sun Certified Enterprise Architect)
Managed Objects Experience / Expertise
Scripting Expertise (SED & AWK, Shell, Perl)
Expertise in development platforms & frameworks and in representational languages (e.g. UML, XML)
Expertise in OSS systems, products & protocols

Position Description

This is a permanent role and the Ericsson faciolity id the largest Java software development house in Ireland with over 750 engineers working onsite. The product that is designed and built here is the Ericsson OSS (Operator Support System and this is the worlds leading mobile telecoms network management tool - this tool (built and designed completely in Ericsson Athlone) is a global leader and is responsible for managing over 1 Billion subcribers. I hope this gives some idea as to the nature of the work - i on terms of specific projects that will vary greatly but more detail can be given at interview.

Conditions of employment

Salary is flexible, dependant upon experience but will range from ?55,000-65,000 Gross (?3,200 - ?3,500 Net per month) + bonus payment. There is a relocation allowance totalling ?2,000 which can be used for any thing from flights to accommodation. This is a permanent role wokring onsite in the facility in the town of Athlone in Westmeath, which is approximately 90 minutes travel outside of Dublin. Interview process will be as follows: 1 x Phone Screen with Manager (~45 minutes), 1 x Face to Face meeting in Ireland (~3 hours, Ericsson Ireland will reimburse individuals for the cost of flying to Ireland and hotel costs whilst here).
