TWO young Leaving Certificate students have been hailed as heroes after rescuing two men from a blazing flat.

Cillian Mahon (18) and Ryane Twomey (18) braved smoke and flames to help drag two men to safety from a burning apartment on Patrick Street, Fermoy in Co Cork.

Cillian, from Fermoy, and Ryane, from Kilworth, were out celebrating their Leaving Cert results when they spotted a building on fire at 11.30pm on Wednesday night.

The two teenagers managed to fight their way into the smoke-filled premises and drag a man who had been asleep on a sofa to safety outside.

But they were horrified when the groggy man told them his friend was still inside.

Ryane used his T-shirt to shield his mouth and nose from the smoke, while Cillian desperately alerted the emergency services.

"My eyes were burning from the heat and smoke and it was very hard to see," said Ryane.

"I managed to get him out of the building despite the fact there were times when I could only see a few inches in front of my face," he said.

после празнования выпускного двое молодых 18-летних юношей увидели дом в огне.
Вытащили с дивана мужика спящего.
Тот порадовал, что в доме ещё один друг. И второй парень пополз в огонь и вытащил второго, когда глаза жгло и от дыма не было совсем ничего видно!

Молодцы! Конечно, герои!
