PROGRAM:

Antonio Vivaldi The Four Seasons (Italian: Le quattro stagioni) is a set of four violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi. Composed in 1723, The Four Seasons is Vivaldi's best-known work, and is among the most popular pieces of Baroque music.

Allegro
Springtime is upon us.
The birds celebrate her return with festive song,
and murmuring streams are softly caressed by the breezes.
Thunderstorms, those heralds of Spring, roar, casting their dark mantle over heaven,
Then they die away to silence, and the birds take up their charming songs once more.
Largo
On the flower-strewn meadow, with leafy branches rustling overhead, the goat-herd sleeps, his faithful dog beside him.
Allegro
Led by the festive sound of rustic bagpipes, nymphs and shepherds lightly dance beneath the brilliant canopy of spring.
Solo violin- Karina Proskurina

I.S.Bach Four pieces from the Suite in D- major.
1-Gavote, 2 - Bourree, 3- Air, 4- Gigue.
The Air is one of the most famous pieces of classical music.

E. Grieg Holberg Suite
Holberg Suite, Op.40 more properly "From Holberg's Time", (German: Aus Holbergs Zeit, Norwegian: Fra Holbergs tid), but originally called "Suite in old style" (Norwegian: Suite i gammel stil), is a suite of five movements based on eighteenth century dance forms, written by Edvard Grieg in 1884 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Danish-Norwegian playwright Ludvig Holberg.
It is an example of a piece of nineteenth century music which makes use of musical styles and forms from the preceding century. It can be compared with Franz Liszt's À la Chapelle Sixtine (1862) and contrasted with later neoclassical works.
This suite is not as famous as the incidental music from Peer Gynt, which is usually performed as arranged in a pair of suites itself, but many critics see them as equal.
The movements of the suite are:
Praeludium
Sarabande
Gavotte
Air (Andante religioso)
Rigaudon
Though originally composed for the piano, the version most well known today is the arrangement by the composer for string orchestra

Samuel Barber Adagio for Strings is a work for string orchestra, arranged by the American composer Samuel Barber from his first string quartet. It is by far Barber's most popular piece. Barber's "Adagio for Strings" originated as the second movement in his String Quartet No. 1, Op. 11, composed in 1936. In the original it follows a violently contrasting first movement, and is succeeded by a brief reprise of this music.
In January 1938 Barber sent the piece to Arturo Toscanini. The conductor returned the score without comment, and Barber was annoyed and avoided the conductor. Subsequently Toscanini sent word through a friend that he was planning to perform the piece and had returned it simply because he had already memorized it.[1] It was reported that Toscanini did not look at the music again until the day before the premiere. [2] The work was given its first performance in a radio broadcast by Arturo Toscanini with the NBC Symphony Orchestra on November 5, 1938 in New York

Edward Elgar's Serenade for Strings in E minor was written in March 1892 and first performed in private in that year, by the Worcester Ladies' Orchestral Class, with the composer conducting. It received its first public performance in Antwerp on July 23, 1896. 12 minutes in duration and is in three movements.
Allegro, Larghetto, Allegretto .

P.I. Tchaikovsky Valse from Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48, premiered in 1880. It remains one of the late Romantic era's most definitive compositions.
In his score, Tchaikovsky supposedly wrote, "The larger the string orchestra, the better will the composer's desires be fulfilled."Serenade for Strings has 4 movements:
Andante non troppo; Allegro moderato.
Valse: Moderato; Tempo di valse
Élégie: Larghetto elegiaco
Finale (Tema russo): Andante; Allegro con spirito

Russian Chamber Orchestra include in program soprano Natalia Vakulenko winner of International Signer competition in Russia.

1. W.A.Mozart - Aria Fiordiligi
2. Cesar Franck -Panis Angelicus
3. G. Puccini -La Boheme/ Aria Musette
4. I. Kalman - Song from operetta Grafin Mariza

In program music Irish composer Michael Holohan
