MRCI e-bulletin - No. 2 / July 2009
Migrant Rights Centre Ireland (MRCI) is a national organisation whose mission is to promote the empowerment and inclusion of those migrant workers and their families who are at risk of poverty, social exclusion and discrimination. MRCI’s strategic priorities for 2008-2011 are:
- To strengthen the rights and protections for migrant workers who are at risk of or experiencing workplace exploitation, are trafficked for forced labour or are undocumented;
- To mainstream a focus on migrant workers at risk of social exclusion, poverty and discrimination within service and information provision and within community and local development;
- To proactively provide migrant workers with the opportunities to develop leadership capacity.
This news bulletin is emailed approximately every three months. It contains updates on policy developments, information on immigration-related procedures & practices, MRCI’s campaigns and activities, and other useful information related to the situation of migrant workers in Ireland. If you have any information that you think should be included in future bulletins, please let us know by emailing heena@mrci.ie and we will endeavour to include it.
