THE family and friends of a heavily pregnant woman were today desperately trying to track her movements 24 hours after she mysteriously disappeared.

Anna Byrne, (35), who is 38 weeks pregnant with twins, vanished from her home in Beechdale, Dunboyne, Co Meath, yesterday morning.
Her mobile phone was found on the other side of Dublin.

Her distraught brother Ciaran Deeney organised a late night search party at the seaside town of Dun Laoghaire in south Dublin after gardai informed him that a signal from her mobile phone was traced to the area.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, Mr Deeney, who lives in Sutton, north Dublin, said there was no reason for his sister to be in Dun Laoghaire.
However, he said his sister "is highly hormonal" due to her pregnancy and he thought she may have inexplicably boarded a ferry to the UK.
But after a group of about a dozen friends and family met shortly before midnight in the seaside town, they learned there were no ferries from the port yesterday.
But they vowed to scour the area for any signs of her mobile or handbag or other clues as to her whereabouts.
"We're meeting here now to see if we can find or phone or anything," he said.
He added that it was very uncharacteristic of her to simply vanish.

He appealed for anyone who may have seen her to contact gardai immediately.

He added that if she had taken a ferry or other form of transportation, she would "need help" from others to get around due to the advanced state of her pregnancy.

She is described as 5 feet tall, of medium build with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is believed to be wearing a black coat and carrying a large red handbag.

She is also believed to be driving a blue Nissan Micra with 'L' plates and registration number 99 D 86899.
