Job Qualifications

* Candidates should have an interest in trading and financial markets, though a financial background is not essential
* Candidates should enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They should also be prepared to work up to 60 hours per week - for which a phenomenal financial package is on offer.
* Analytic ability and raw talent are required
* Strong mathematical aptitude; background in math, physics, or statistics is a plus
* Proficiency with Java is required
* Experience in distributed and/or highly concurrent systems is a plus
* Excellent communication skills are required

They are a US Securities Trading company who also develop their own proprietary software. They are headquartered out of Los Angeles and have an office in New York. They set up their Dublin office mid 2008. The reason for this is that the company have traders who work the European and Far East markets.

The company have a lead developer in Dublin who is over on secondment from the US. The idea is to hire someone to partner this person for a period of time and then take over the lead developer role. Please note that most of the development team is in the US (California). Dublin is principally a trading office but they want a developer to look after their systems / software for Europe / Asia
