Website for Russian people living in Ireland

Hi my name is Jim.

I am Irish.

I have spent the last two months building a website for people who have come to live in Ireland to try to help them with some of the issue that they may have.

Lots of situations can arise when you are in a different country so I have tried to begin to cover the important subjects for the benefit of Foreign Nationals who both want to move to Ireland and of course those who are already here.

My website is called www.slavaspect.com

At the moment my wife is translating all of the details into Russian, she is from Belarus and speaks five languages.

I also have a Polish friend who is helping me with the Polish translations.

I respect the fact that www.virtualireland.ru is a website that will probably be easier for many people to understand, but I would hope that some of the advice that I offer can also help.

There are quite a few people working with me on this website project but I also openly invite anyone out there to contribute your story or information that will serve to assist those who are arriving in Ireland and will need help with many issues.

На мой взгляд на movetoireland.com можно найти практически все ответы на вопросы, связанные с прибытием в Ирландию и знакомством практически со всеми аспектами жизни здесь. Ну, по крайней мере, направление где дальше искать. Кстати, глазами иммигранта.
Просто хотелось бы увидеть, что-нибудь дополнительно к уже существующему...

Lets get a few things straight.

You are asking me about Eircom servers?

You obviously have little understanding of Ireland because if you did you would know that Eircom are running a monopoly on Broadband internet access which is preventing about 85% of the households in Ireland from attaining broadband.

It's a joke to us as our Government tries to tell the rest of the world that we are the "Technology Hub " of Europe, yet we dont even have broadband rolled out yet. That one was a cheap shot Serge, you will have to do better than that.

Gmail offer 2700 Megabytes of storage space for FREE, I pay for hosting in America as it's cheaper than most European hosting packages when you compare the prices in Euro. In fact IU wish I spoke Chinese as I would get an EVEN BETTER DEAL from them Im sure.

Personally Serge the only advice I can offer you is to say that the cynic knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.

As far as I can see www.move2ireland.ie does not feature Russian as a language.

The Irish are obsessed with POLISH PEOPLE coming here.

When you read newspaper reports the media ALWAYS discuss net inward immigration in terms of POLISH people.

Personally I have many Polish and Russian friends all of whom I think are great people, in fact most of them remind me of Irish people BEFORE the Celtic Tiger came along and started to destroy the friendly nature of Irish people.

I am open to criticism Serge and I will endeavour to create a positive situation out of the most defensive replies.

At the end of the day though I am actually ASKING THE ADVICE of people who are considering moving here as to WHAT THEY WANT.

There are lots of websites in Ireland now which cover this subject.

Personally I am proud that Irish people have taken the step to try to communicate advice to people who wish to live here.

Have a look at the language options on their website.

You have a choice of English or Irish.

I have been living here for thirty years and to be honest although the American tourists have always displayed a penchant for the native tounge, it's about as usefull as Latin in a chipshop.
