Main Responsibilities:
In this position, the Software Engineer will work under minimal supervision as part of the Orbix 3 Engineering Team. He/She will be involved in problem analysis, bug fixing, refactoring, porting, design reviews, code reviews and product release.

Experience, skills and qualification needed:

A minimum of two years post-graduate experience and a diploma/degree in a computer-related discipline or equivalent computer-related technical experience is required. This experience should encompass at least one of the following areas: product test and release, porting, customer services or process improvement.

Personal Attributes / Skills:

· Degree in Computer Science or in a related discipline
· Minimum of 2 years experience in a C++ development environment
· Minimum of 1 years experience in Java
o Experience on both UNIX and a Windows platform

· Worked with Advanced Programming concepts (Threading, Networking etc.)
o Experience of source code control systems and debugging tools

· Co-operative teamwork skills
· Flexible, quick learner and self motivated
· Organised and methodical approach to work, with good attention to detail
· Good written and verbal communication skills

The following skills are highly desirable but not essential:

o Knowledge of make systems and scripting languages (Ant, Perl)
o Experience of porting C++ code to a range of Operating Systems
o Knowledge of CORBA, SSL
