Job Title: Reference Data Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities

Description of the role:
This is an intermediate level role with responsibility to build and maintain reference data repository to support company's deliverables. This will involve integrating data from a number of data sources, improving data quality and liaising with various stakeholders within wider organisation to meet reference data requirements. The solution will play a key role in supporting data integration effort within the company.

Key tasks:

• Reference data management
• Source systems analysis
• Data profiling and quality assessment
• Data integration requirements definition

Knowledge and Experience

Experience:

• Proven experience with master / reference data management and/or customer data integration
• Ability to work with heterogeneous data sources, e.g. relational and non-relational databases, off-the-shelf and bespoke applications, ad-hoc spreadsheets, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with data and systems integration
• Insurance industry knowledge is a plus

Technical Skills:

• Strong SQL with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases
• Experience with at least one ETL tool, e.g. IBM DataStage, MS SSIS, Talend Open Studio, etc.
• Experience with database (PL/SQL or T-SQL) and scripting languages is a plus

Other skills:

• Ability to discuss requirements with both business subject matter experts as well as IT personnel
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to quickly acquire business understanding and technical skills when necessary
• Exercise sound and balanced judgment
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to prioritise and work independently
• Consummate team player with an ability to work well with others and actively engage in solving problems for clients and colleagues
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Well organised, process oriented
