Dell to axe 230 more jobs in Ireland

Another 230 jobs are to be axed by computer market Dell here over
the next six months

One hundred of the new job losses are to be in Limerick, with the
remaining 130 at its Cherrywood call centre in Dublin

The latest staff cuts are in addition to the 2,150 jobs that the
company has announced previously, mostly due to its decision to
close its manufacturing operation in Limerick.

They will bring the company's total payroll in Ireland down to
less than 1,700

The company has been holding meetings this morning with staff at
both Limerick and Cherrywood about the new cuts
