Job Title - Database Developer

Duties and Responsibilities

Key tasks include:

• Development of data centric solutions for a global trading application platform
• Working in a dedicated team to design, develop, test and deploy data warehouse, master data management and transaction processing solutions.
• Assist in the support and maintenance of the application platform
• Ensure detailed specifications, reviews and other relevant system documentation is produced and maintained
• Develop, manage and maintain effective relationships with other teams and individual team members
• Deliver excellence in database design, data integration, database performance and data quality

Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications:

• Third-level I.T qualification, closely related qualification or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 2 to 5 years+ experience in Oracle 10G and / or SQL Server (2005 / 2008) database design and development

Technical Skills:

• Oracle 10G Database (SQL, PL/SQL, DBA) experience
• SQL Server 2008 (T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, DBA) experience
• Experience of MS .Net 3.5 Desirable
• Powerdesigner experience desirable
• TOAD experience desirable

Other Skills:

• Understanding of insurance processes is desirable.
• Practical experience of Data Warehouse design desirable
• Experience of Data Profiling and Analysis desirable
• Experience of OLTP database design and optimization desirable
• Database Tuning and Performance experience desirable
• Strong business writing and presentation skills
