Mass hysteria about so-called man-made global warming is frightening. The mass media keep supporting and intensifying this, but the roots of all that hair-tearing are buried in the world powers' desire to remain as such.

The populations of wealthy countries, that is you and I, need serfs who are poor and likely to remain so.

We do not share the same roof or indeed the same country with them any more, but we still need them to produce cheap merchandise for us and give us their natural resources (Nigerian oil springs to mind) for a fraction of its value.

That is why the governments of the First World states are suddenly so carbon-conscious. Those anti-greenhouse measurements cannot be afforded by the Third World countries, so they remain poor.

Recently, a Canadian climatologist blogger Steve McIntyre discovered a serious error in NASA's list of the hottest years in the US (http://www.climateaudit.org/?p=1880).

It appears the hottest decade there was the Thirties and not the Nineties or Noughties. Yet Al Gore used that inaccurate data to scare people.

Also, may I respectfully remind everyone that Greenland was so named for a reason. Yes, it really WAS green and habitable in places at the time of its discovery.

That said, we do need to pay more attention to waste management, as the space for landfills is already at the premium in some places, and industrial spillages do our health no good.

С Гренландией неувязочка.
Это викинги так её назвали, чтоб всех запутать.
Типа Гренландия - зелёная, а Исландия - ледяная.
На самом деле наоборот.

Нет, было-было. Только не очень долго, как раз случилось похолодание и лафа прекратилась. Только я там не очень внятно написала, она была _местами_ зеленая и обитабельная, а не зеленая и местами обитабельная.

Ледник был меньше и климат там был лучше. Мне тут написали, что в то же время в Англии вообще виноградники успешно разводили.
