Job Title - Test Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

Key tasks include:

• Manage the test team providing overall end-to-end testing services in support of a global trading application
• Control test activities on a day-to-day basis
• Plan, estimate and resource significant components of overall project delivery plans, work closely with the project manager
• Manage, schedule, monitor, and report on the various work packages assigned to the team
• Participate in QA activities related to requirements and design reviews
• Monitor accuracy and quality of test strategies, approaches, plans and test scripts produced
• Input to the future product design and direction of the applications
• Identify and specify test environments required to support effective test execution.
• Develop, manage and maintain effective relationships with other teams and individuals

Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications:

• Third-level I.T qualification, closely related qualification or equivalent experience.
• Professional Test Certifications

Experience:

• 3 to 5 years+ experience in overall management of a software test function
• Full project lifecycle experience, from Requirements through to Deployment, as a test professional
• At least 5 years practical experience of defining and executing software testing of new and existing applications.
• At least 3 to 5 years experience of managing a test team of up to 10 resources, including career development and performance management.
• Demonstrated practical experience of defining and implementing test processes, practices and procedures, aligned with overall Software Development Life cycles

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of enterprise-class software environments, primarily Microsoft and Oracle Technology stacks
• Extensive experience of HP Quality Centre including initial configuration and deployment

Other Skills:

• Understanding of insurance processes is desirable.
• Project Management certification desirable.
• Strong business writing and presentation skills
